So, before we get going on this one, the question is "why"?

There is a whole lot of electrical that will need to be (re)done. Two very different system; distributor/bank fired verses an Optispark and your ECM may get bijiggity.

Truthfully with all you need to do with your Drive train Conversions and putting in the wiring for a L-98. I feel your time & Money would be better Spent if you Parted what you Have and Just got a Production 6 speed I gave a short look in your area and for UNDER $10,000 there is a Clean 42000 mile 6 Speed.

Okay another idea would be to swap the rear end of the '92 onto the 88 and just paint it. Is it difficult to swap quarter panels and rear bumper?

Rear bumper is a piece of cake, the quarter panels are much more difficult. You will however have the mid section molding issue to deal with....

If you put a '92 tail on a '88, why would you mess with the quarters?

The 88 was rear ended both quarter panels and the bumper are messed up.

The reason I wanted to just swap the power train is to have a clean title car. Plus my 92 roller is in all-round better shape then the 88
