Just for reference to anyone who's interested here is how it ran just a couple months before I took it in for all this work.

And here is how it runs now.

My 85 uses the cold start injector on every cold start, even if the ambient temp is in the 90's. Fires almost too quickly.
Interesting. I'll take a look at that and see if there's anything out of the ordinary.

You can also block that off if you don’t mind longer cranks. I did it on my last ‘85 because I was having trouble with it. It can leak and cause a rich mixture.

Yeah I'm running super lean right now so no need for that. Thanks for the tip though.

When everything is right, the 85 should fire in less than half a second, regardless of ambient. "Right' includes a functioning cold start injector.
You’re totally right. I’m just thinking of a cheap/fast/easy way to get him going. Certainly blocking it off is not the right way to do it. At the time I couldn’t afford a new cold start injector though.

Thanks for all the help guys I really do appreciate it and I'll get back to you all with an update once I get the new sensor/connector installed.

Alright as I said I would I'm back with an update after getting the vette back. New coolant temp sensor + wiring installed (only other thing I did to the car was switch back to snow tires). I tested it today (7F outside covered in snow) and the first attempt it started but stalled out which is no surprise, but second time she stayed alive which is actually pretty great from my experience. I noticed it idles a bit differently now but I think that might be a timing issue so I'll check that soon and get back to you guys on that.
