Default Intellitronix Wiring Assist Please

I'm installing an Intellitronix digital replacement gauge set in my 1984. They come with good instructions as to what lead on the set goes to what vehicle source - but they aren't specific about which existing leads on the car to use. I presume that most will be picked up from one of the two harnesses that went to the factory dash.

Before you flame me, I have looked at the FSM wiring diagrams and frankly I don't have the knowledge or experience to make sense of this. Part of the problem is that neither of the two harnesses that went to the factory dash has the same number of pins nor wiring of the same colors as are detailed in the FSM. Add to this that the diagram provided with the new gauges disagrees with both the car itself and the FSM.

I find old threads (here and elsewhere) but none offers a step-by-step for these connections. For those who have done it, can you get me pointed in the right direction please?

Thanks in advance.

First, wow! I didn't even know Intellitronix made this. https://www.intellitronix.com/produc...al-gauge-panel

Second, I highly recommend the Racetronix header connector for installing different gauges in a C4. It made life much easier for me. http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=RHCA-001&Tp=

Lastly, I believe I used my FSM to connect up my (Firebird) gauges. There are definitely certain pins that won't be re-used (Cruise Control, OD, etc) but it's not that hard really. Take your time, one wire at a time. If you use the racetronix plug just make sure you are wiring into the correct (opposite of the factory plug) pin. http://www.batee.com/corvette/dcrg/wiringdiagrams/

Thanks for the links - much appreciated. I'd looked at rebuilding the factory system myself, or sending it to Batee, but it had been rebuilt by Batee about five years ago and I'm tired of messing with it. I'm not a huge fan of the Atari display anyway so the Intellitronix system seemed a good replacement. The Batee diagrams in the second link are just what I need - off to the garage to see if I can get some traction.

Thanks again.

Hey DanZ51 - the Batee link was the ticket. The car is in winter storage right now so I can't test some of the functions, but those that I can test as it sits all work correctly. Thanks again!
