Default Lightweight vs. Stock Flywheel

How heavy is the stock flywheel in my '88 4+3 versus the
weight of a lightweight aluminum unit?

How big a difference is there in street use?
TIA for any help.

Might not be a great idea for street use. Stoplight launches would probably require greater effort to avoid stalling, resulting in frustration and most likely a shorter clutch life. Resurfacing of the AL flywheel is also not recommended. Great stuff for the track though!

Thanks,
I was wondering about the standing start situation.
I guess I'll save for something else.

I have an aluminum flywheel, If your looking for drag strip performance where 60ft times are rquired than a moderatly heavy flywheel is desired (like a single mass camaro flywheel) The heavy flywheel builds inertia and alows for a harder launch but once the clutch has stoped slipping the flywheel robs horsepower thru paricidic loss. On a road course where the car is in constant motion it is advantagious to not lug around that extra weight. So the question is what is it you want to acomplish? drag racing, road course, daily driver or all three?
