I got in my car today after a couple days of light rain and the passenger window won't go down. The driver side window works fine. Any ideas? Oh and is it always such a PITA to remove that inner door panel, It seems like its stuck around the door lock am i missing something?

I recently had the same problem in my '95. The window motor went out and it was a royal PITA to change out. And yes, you are missing a screw behind the courtesy light, I believe there are three screws in the door and the 5 studs at the bottom

I found the screw i was missing. Has anyone ever paid for this to be done. I hate electrical stuff. Any ideas on cost?
its really not that hard to change the motor. i replaced both window motors on my car before i painted it (so i wouldnt have to do it down the road with new paint)once the door panal is off yopu remove the metal panal & remove the whole regulater..i think 4 bolts hold the reg in........the window will remain in the door once you slide it off the track...... once the regulater is out you have to drill the rivits that hold in the window motor...... once drilled you install bolts that are supplied with the ner motor.......then put it all back together. the first one i did took over 1 hour but when i did the other side it only took 40mins. give it a try you might just surprise your self. good luck.

 The switch could also be at fault.
A test I read about somewhere worked for me. It goes like this, if you slam the door and the window doesn't wotk, it's the switch. If you slam the door and the window works, it's the motor.

Followed your instructions, worked like a charm. To anyone else wondering the magic miracle cure, all you do is hold the window switch in the down position and hit the inside of the door right below the door handle works fine now.

Just a little follow up. When I got my 92 in August, the PO told me the driver window wouldn't work once in a great while. He said if I bang on the lower door panel it would then work (dead spot in the brushes). 6 weeks later the window wouldn't go up, no amount of banging helped. Took the door panel off and tapped directly on the motor eith a screwdriver, with the switch pushed up, and it worked fine. I think the motor stopping, exactly where the dead spot is, probably won't happen often. I didn't want to risk this again at an inopportune time, so I replaced the motor. There's a tech article on it that was a great help.
Its usually a loose screw. The screw behind the window switch is actually the ground for the window motor. If it is loose or falls out, which happened on mine, the window dies.
