Has your safety switch gone bad? If so, you can just jumper it on the plug. The old switch will no longer work at that point. You will have to engage the clutch or put the transmission in neutral each time to start the engine. On my 85 that switch is so far up under the dash, it's almost impossible to remove it. When my neutral safety switch was acting up, I just unplugged it and jumpered the plug where the switch was connected.
