Perplexing problem...My dashboard gauge is not registering, (1990 ZF) but I believe that it's getting a reading to the computer because it shows up on the scanner, and my Ease software program.
This all started with the engine transplant, so I'm suspecting one of the "mechanics" (boneheads) pinched a wire or something. Any ideas?
I'll have to take a look at my friends 90-but for the temp gauges on earlier years there are seperate coolant temp senders for ecm and dash-don't know if that applies to oil temp on yours though.
Otherwise-yea has to be a short to the dash. Was the dash apart? It's real easy to loosen a pin on the connectors to it.
Aren't electrical gremlins fun? NOT! :smash:
The sender is in place and hooked up. As I mentioned earlier, I believe that the computer is getting a signal, but not the dash. I do know that the coolant temp sensor for the guage is in the pass. head. For the computer, it's under the TB. The idea that the there's two for the oil temp is a good question. Any electrical guru's out there? This is REALLY a weak area for me.
