Default Flowmaster Catalytic Converters

Does anyone know if the Flowmaster Catalytic Converters are louder than the stock CC’s.
I realize from a muffler stand point, that Flowmasters are louder than stock mufflers.
I haven’t read/heard much on the subject of cc.

Thanks for any/all input.

If it is the high flow style, it'll probably be a little louder.

I have a magnaflow which was rated as a "high-flow direct replacement" And I ran my car with just the Y pipe for a little while then I also ran it with just the cat and honestly couldn't hear a difference. The one I have uses a fine tubular mesh, so looking down it it is almost see through. Increasing the number of tubes decreases the total pressure drop of the system. In other words you won't really be adding much restriction with the new cat. Mine was louder stock to new only because the core of the stocker spun sideways and blocked most of the flow... There may or may not be a difference.

Yss, it will be louder and flow much better.

I swapped my original for high flow and noticed a difference right away. My muffler guy said that new technology allows for 6x better flow with the same "scrubbing" power as the old ones.

Yes it will flow more, therefore it'll be a little louder, but its not all that much.

What brand were these and were they a direct fit? What year C4? LT1?
