I dunno, mine had already been removed. Be warned though, it's NOT a base idle screw. The computer will fight to keep the RPM it thinks it should have, reguardless of what you try to set that screw to. If you run it out too far, you'll set a code because the computer sees the throttle blades too far open.
If your idle screw has never been touched, a small, light metal plug covers the screw. It's like a metal cover protecting some cans containing a liquid, like brake fluid. Just take an awl or sharp pointed object, pierce, bend slightly and remove. Not replaced, at least on my 90.
Well I suppose since there is a cover over the screw, the base idle is whatever it was from the factory, so I won't have to adjust it? I'm just wondering because I'm putting in a new IAC.
Granted, it's in my 89, so things could be entirely different, BUT:
IIRC, the Service manual procedure for setting the IAC is to start the car and bring it immediately to 2000 rpm. Count to 15 seconds, turn the motor off.
