NXT exhaust vs Corsa videos inside opinions pls.
guys, am i dreaming or does the NXT sound pretty much the same as the Corsa?
I was going to get OBX but after listening to it, there is a lack of the raspy-ness that I am after that corsa has. I don't hear it in magnaflow or the flowmaster or stock. I happend to click on a video showing NXT, that is 25% of the cost of corsa.
Anybody have experience with the nxt? do you have drone at hiway speed and if you do, do you also have your cat gutted or deleted?
i have an L98 so thats what is in these videos for comparison. you kind of need decent sound to catch the nuances of the sound.

I don't know if it's just me or the headphones I am using or the camera used but the NXT has a nice deep idle rumble which I like... Something the Corsa appears to be missing here...

I like the NXT better...but then again, I never liked the Cross...even when I owned them.

Where you do the test has effect on how it sounds. If hard surfaces to bounce off of it will probably be louder. The only fair test is in the open air with nothing close to the car.

The NXT system does sound really good, especially when you factor in price of the mufflers ($399 I think) vs the Corsa system ($1,500ish?). Curious how the NXT mufflers sit from a side view as I like the way the corsa system follows OEM where the tips bend down a bit.
There was a thread recently where a poster was asking about exhaust systems. Ultimately he was choosing to go with NXT and promised a full write up on a LT1. Looking forward to that...

I liked the NXT better too.
I have Corsa on my '95. To me it is not a deep enough tone and inside the car it seems too quiet. My wife says that outside the car is louder. Many people like the quiet inside and brag about no drone, but I would prefer a little louder inside since I like listening to the motor.
Good luck with your choice.

I like the deeper tone of the NXT, But I love the WOT of the Corsa, in fact I put high flow cats on my Corsa system to tone down the raspy/tinny sound some.

I just installed NXT but mine is a LT1. I plan to do a full write up including before and after.. Im going with all stock to the rear mufflers.
I can tell you that it does have a low rumble which Im not fond of but most like it. It also does have a small amount of drone which I am working on with custom baffles.
For the money its not bad.. I will say this... be VERY careful cutting your stock pipes or you will wind up with a problem.

Personally I like the sound of the NXT over the Corsa. I have a 1990 ZR-1 with dual out lets on each side but these stock mufflers have only one side open, thus more back pressure. I changed them to Corsa as they have a straight through design and both sides are open thus less back pressure and more power and better sound over the stock mufflers. I also like no drone on the inside of car.

I tried playing with a baffle with no success.. but I will continue to play with the sizing. Basically Im closing down one side a little.. or both sides a little.
Im pretty happy with it but if it was a daily driver, Id want stock.. but then again Im 52 and have very little tolerance for drone.
So, my final analysis, for a weekend play toy I like it.. $1300 for a corsa is insane if you ask me.. but if daily driver and it gives you no drone but still aggressive perhaps its worth it.
Essentially the NXT is a thick glass pack with an output the splits into two. Its probably gonna get louder as the fiberglass picks up carbon so I dont know where this will wind up.
Now I just need a cam for the ultimate idle sound
Here is what I promised...

I agree Corsa is quite expensive but it gives me what I want. My wife yelling is enough don't need drone inside car also. lol Good luck with your venture.

Some people have resources for this.. I choose not to.. but wish I did.. $1300 is just too much for my level. Im just a lowly middle income household paying for lower income folks to stay at home.

It's too much for any reasonable level. $1000+ for two mufflers is retarded...and this is coming from a guy who was dumb enough to buy 'em once. For over a grand, a pair of muffler had better provide a damn near sexual experience...and of course, no muffler will do that.

It has to do with the way the mufflers are designed on the inside, slotted as such, to rid of pressure pulses that cause the drone on the inside of car. The cost is high because of the tech. that went into the mufflers. To me it's well worth the price to get the sound, better performance and no drone on the inside of car. Cheers!
