Default GM SP350 357 cam?

Any feedback from users of the GM SP350 357 cam part number 12677151? Looks like a drop in swap for an stock LT1 or stock vortec heads with stock springs. Specs look like its a LT4 Hot Cam little brother.

Better late than never but I wish GM was selling that came when I bought my car.

Just wondering if any is running it and would like to share what they think of it here.

bet it picks up nice, springs should last a long time. Still would put new ones in to be safe.

Default SP350 357 Crate Engine

I recently purchased the SP350 357 crate engine for my 69 Camaro. I had it broken-in on a dyno before having it shipped. I purchased it from Pace Performance and am very happy with their service. The dyno test proved 386Hp @ 5600 RPM and 419 lb torque @ 4100 RPM. I have about a 1,000 miles now on the motor and am very pleased with how smooth it runs in traffic and how strong it pulls when the secondaries open up. It came with HEI ignition but I recently changed to MSD. It's much happier with MSD. Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing. That's some nice power for a reasonable price. What I'm looking for is a direct cam swap w/o changing valve springs on an LT1 Gen II motor. Should be a great match and save a lot of $$ and effort by using stock LT1 springs. Something the GEN II LT1's have had less than 2 choices.

Cool you got a great deal on a good performance motor.

So how is your 350/357 running so far?
I am planning to put it in my 73 project with Tremec TKO500

I’m having same engine and also will swap to MSD. Did you change distributor gears or left them MSD stock?

I'm considering this exact engine to replace my '71 350/270HP.

Could you please describe the 350/357's idle quality? Will it be the same, smooth-as-glass idle, as my stock 350/270? Or will be slightly lumpy, while idling at a red light?

Thanks
