Default 1995 corvette considering 4:10 gears

I'm considering adding 4:10 gears to 1995. Thoughts?

I have two. 4.10's are high for a street car. You are in the wrong forum.

Why do you want 4.11? Any other mods to your Vette.

..... 6speed ? Yes ! ... A4 track , Yes ! ... A4 street , Not so much ! ..... That said , my '87 w/TH400 A3 has 4.30's but it rarely sees any street duty ... 50 mph @ 3000 rpm can be annoying .....

1994 with LE2 build, 3000 stall TC. I'm running 4.11 with a 4L60E.
At 2000rpm I'm running 53mph in 4th gear. (yes I've had the PCM updated after the gear switch).Just about 80mph at 3000. I do very little highway driving, but I don't find the 4.11 any problem, and I just love the low end grunt...Just my opinion. So, I would say go for it.

Have 'em.... Love 'em... do you like smoky burnouts???? If so, get 'em... Speedo is off about 20 miles per hour @ 55. I believe the Im going to get the Daytona digital device because I might wanna try different tire diameters in the future.Rear end gears are probably the best seat of your pants mod you can do. In my opinion.

Need to be a bit more specific on your goals and desire for car as well as details. Is it auto or manual? Street driven or track only?

4.10s in a 6 speed car that is street and track driven...no problem... 4.10s in an auto car that is street driven... you may hate life

4.33 auto perfect. 6700 rpm through traps at 131 mph in third gear. No street driving unless you count the return road.

Hello,
First of all I want to thank everyone that has responded. I think Corvette owners are a special breed! This is my first experience with Corvette Forum, so please excuse my remedial questions. I'm in my 60s. I've had this '95 LT1 6 speed for 17 years. it's fun, but acts like a touring car. Someone told me to get 4:10s which would provide more life. I wasn't sure if that was worth considering and unsure of what would be a reasonable cost to have it done. So thanks for your suggestions!

thanks,
Phil

For an M6 car, yes, its worthwhile to have this done. Go ahead and ask some local shops.

You really want to find a shop that you know has done this before.

..... The gear set will cost $3-400 ... bearing install kit about $150 ... R&R your diff will depend on the shop's labor rate and whether or not you have all the u-joints changed while its apart ... WAG $400-1200 ... gear change and set-up labor $3-400 .....

If you can do some wrench turning, it's not difficult to drop the diff, take it to a reputable shop to have gears and rebuild kit installed, and put diff back in yourself. I did need extra hands just to line it up properly when raising it back into place. The rest I did myself. There are some pretty good DIY videos out there.
