I've been driving my vette for almost 2 weeks now an di am completely used to it. This past weekend it rained alot so i put it in the garage and took my truck out instead (first time in like a week and a half) Having not driven for a while it felt completely weird. The one thing i did notice was how much lighter the brakes were. The first time i i had to slow down i nearly chipped my teeth on the sterring wheel. I got in my mothers car same thing. I got back in the vette and noticed how heavy the pedal was. Is this normal, i mean its really heavy.
Welcome to the forum & the world of Corvettes! When the car is running, do you hear any kind of hissing noise, such as a vacuum leak? That could be the brake booster. If the booster is not working, you will get a heavy pedal. The vette is known for its "toe braking". You should not need to push down very hard to stop. :chevy
 On your new vette, and welcom to the forum(heaven!). Definiately check out the entire system, first the booster then the master cyl. I just got my vette a couple of months ago, and I thought that my wifes 99 Bonneville stopped easy! Your vette should seem like if you sneeze on the pedal, brace yourself! Good luck and enjoy! :seeya
Some pads have to be heated up to operate otimally. The pads on my olds don't want to stop until they get heated up. Happens real fast in a panic stop situation.
I have also noticed that when I get in my truck, EVERYTHING feels looser.
Welcome to the world of Corvettes. You are now a slave.
