89 Hood Prop basic question
So i'm finishing all the little loose end projects on the car. I bought the car from the PO with a BPP AIR delete already done on the car. But the hood prop is garbage and doesn't telescope. It looks like someone has tack welded it or something so that it doesn't retract. So I have to pop it off the top nub and lay it next to the Alt to get the hood shut. So for those who have the BPP delete, would a factory replacement prop clear the alt or do I need to go to a different style?? Throwing in some pics just for reference

I would think you have no issues with an original service replacement for a hood support. I don't have a car with the equipment list you mention but I can't imagine issues!!

I did the AIR delete bracket on my 88. It does push the alternator over a little more than stock but there is no problem with the hood prop. I just replaced my prop and it works fine.

I have 89 and did air delete myself and the hood prop will fit just fine
