hi guys
need some advise on this problem
my 86 has been sat for around 7 years, would start up but ran really rough for around a minute or so then would die.
ive changed fuel pump, pressure regulator, filter and injectors, now getting 45psi at fuel rail but with the ignition on I’m getting power to all the fuel injectors at the same time ( tested with noid light)
could it it be a faulty ECM ? As read the ecm grounds the injectors, Or what else should I try first ?

parts are hard to get hold of as I’m in the UK
many thanks [/left]
Does it hold pressure if you turn it on and don't crank? When it starts, does the fuel pressure go down and not go up? Sounds like something is not sending it the signal to continue past the fuel system priming.
I believe it is going to be hot so it requires the ECM to ground it for firing.
IF the pressure drops after it starts, it makes me think that someone is not telling the pump to keep pressure up. Try the test first.
As soon as the ignition is on (Engine not cranked) the fuel is being dumped through all the injectors, if I disconnect the electrical plug to each injector the fuel pressure hold at 45psi, but if I plug any of the injectors in its spraying fuel straight away, constant power not even pulsing.

Any way you can borrow one to test it? I'd say it is a good bet the return wire might be grounded out or the ECM is broken but I hate to replace it without testing
No chance of borrowing one as very few corvettes in the UK, will look on eBay to see if I can get one in from the States
Follow the harness all the way from the injectors to the ECM and look for any cuts Just a thought to make sure that you are not cut somewhere Doubt it but want to be sure
You need a wiring schematic.
It seems to me the ecm controls the ground side of the injectors, in other words there should be power to them at all times, and if that's the case, then I would think a simple short in the wrong place would do exactly what you are describing.
I’m in West Sussex, I’m going to check out the wiring this weekend on the fuel injectors but if needed do you have a spare ECM I could buy from you ?? I’ve read that there is bank firing 1357- 2468 on the 86 but when the ignition is turned on ( engine not cranked ) all 8 injectors are firing at once

OK, so we’re not neighbors. I do have a spare as I mentioned earlier. PM or email me with and address. I’ll send it to you to test if your wiring checks don’t turn up anything. If it works send me £100, if not, just send it back. What do you think?
I had a situation with mine where the injectors were powered open constantly. Pulled the dipstick and there was a ton of gas in the oil. Ended up being a bad ECM.

Yep going to get out there this weekend with the meter, going to pull the plugs from the ECM first and check for a ground then work through the wiring with the FSM and check and double check everything
Just pulled the ecu from the car and I’m not getting any grounded wire from the negative side of the injector wires - ecu at fault ??? Help needed guys
