The Helms Factory Service Manual is almost a necessity for the C4 owner. You can pick up a set on Ebay, here on parts for sale, or contact Helms and get a new set. Yeah, they cost sometimes over $100. but if you do your own work, it pays for it self the first time you use it. If you don't do your own work, you'll be able to see why it costs so much to have someone do the work. My set of FSMs are worn from all the use it gets.

Back to your problem. Did your over heating just start or has it been a gradual increase? If it is gradual, I'd suggest looking at the usual problem of cleaning the area between the radiator and the condenser . Our C4s are like vacuum cleaners when cruising down the road. Next, when the Vette is moving, does it cool down and just heat up when not moving? How many miles do you have on your Vette? GM designed these C4s to run hotter to improve the emissions, but most of us like to try and cool it down.
