Does someone here have the diagram for proper routing of the spark plug wires for an L98 (1990)and could you post it? Where can i buy the right clips and retainers for them too? :seeya
I've got the 1990 manual which uses the same diagram that VetBoy89 provided from his 89 manual. The bad news is that our 1990s have the newer center screw valve covers while the picture shows the perimeter screw (pre-1990) valve covers. Since the wire retainers in the provided diagrams use the older perimeter screw locations for attachment, I do not know how the 1990 retainers originally looked.
Does someone have a 1991 manual and does it show the later valve cover configuration?
Actually the diagram (same one in my '88 GM Shop Manual) is very close though it shows perimiter bolt covers. The wire retainers just come up from below the valve covers with center bolts.
The other issue is that there are two clips under the EGR tube. The lower holds three wires; the upper holds the #2 plug wire. There are also heat protective sleeves over the wires where they pass under the EGR tube.
There was a note about routing the #5 & #7 wires back by the separator to minimize cross-talk but I can't find it either in my Shop Manual or in my Haynes. I don't think it's an issue if you're using spiral-wound wires.
I don't see any diagram? Can you repost or send it to me too?

I didnt see it either. Thanks for the input. I dont necessarily have to have it exact but mine are just strectched across and wire tied to the hoses and stuff and was told it could be a problem later with rubbing or buring. I will check GM for the parts too and see if it gives me an idea how they go.
