Won't shift into reverse
I have a 1989 6 speed convertible, when I lift the ring to shift into reverse there is no tension to lift the rod so it can engage into reverse.
From searching the web I came up w/ the "Shift **** Reverse Lockout Trigger" as the potential problem.
I would appreciate anyone's help on how to repair the problem
Just today I was getting it ready for summer, and this happens. Thanks in advance.

It seems likely that the lift-ring has failed. In this link there's the GM part# and information that's likely useful.
