Default Rear Lowering Bolts

Anybody here ever replace the factory spring bolts with longer ones to lower the rear ride height? If so, did you ultimately have to make the drivers side bolt shorter to even up the rear ride height? I had too because when I set both bolts at the same length the drivers side was significantly lower. Just doesn't make sense as the factory bolts were the same length and the rear ride heights were the same. Thanks in advance...............

When I did my '88 years ago the DS sat lower stock so I had to lower the PS by that much more to get both sides very close to even.

Have you measured yours after driving it, as any difference may settle out after it rolls a little distance?

Im guessing everyone has different experiences, with mine everything is different left to right - you just have to accept it - set it by using the chassis heights at the jacking points.

This is true. For some crazy reasons C4s have problems sitting level.

As above you can't set your height based on the bolts. Spin the nuts till the jack points-- or some other static chassis point-- are best as even on both sides.

Remember that ride height adjustments are "three dementional" and that the front will move along with the rear.

The best I could get mine was to within 3/8 of an inch.

To get "true" ride height, you'd have to drive perfectly straight for a while with a set of even bumps for both sides at the start.

The 4 link will have a memory of last turn, it's going to have a little bias and will change next turn you make. It's so flexible, get close and call it good.
