Did you get this swap for the newer airbox? I have both setups but I didn't see how the newer style would work with the upright radiator with not moch more space, compared to the slanted radiator.
looks can be a bit deceiving sometimes! SLP claw with older style radiator.
Ok to be fair I did mod things a little, the mounting tabs on the claw were cut off and re-welded so they would line up with the mounting holes on the radiator. The SLP almost cleared then and you can close the hood and drive like that but it just slightly rubbed on the fiberglass support on the underside of the hood so I removed that support and then it fit just fine. Been using it like this for a year now.
if you want some more detailed pictures I can take some and post them?

I'd be curious to see the pics of how you clearanced the hood. I need to redo my intake this spring. I am swapping to a thicker radiator, so I'm going to see if I can clearance the shroud any. I currently have the stock 1992 intake trimmed/squeezed to fit my 102mm throttle body. But the stock rubber intake hose will suck flat at WOT and choke the engine. I have a C6 LS3 intake that might modify, it currently doesn't fit between the hood and the rad shroud.
So If you go to page 21 of my LS swap thread about halfway down there is some good pictures, keep scrolling and I show the support I removed. Again, the intake only slightly runs but the fibergalss support on the underside is only 1/8 thick in order clearance it I just removed the support. The underside of my hood was in rough shape anyway so I just had it repainted after that and you would never know I removed a support now.

Woohoo yes please I have been extremely curious as to if it is possible to get the tri claw SLP intake on the earlier 84-89 C4s that have the more vertical upright radiator and single fan and shroud. I was searching the forum but never found any good leads on this.
Are the tubes steel or aluminum? I can weld steel but not aluminum.
Some pics and more detail would be sweet. I am not expecting big power or anything, maybe 10rwhp at the most, but I honestly I want it just for the look and sound!

Its going back a good year but i'm pretty sure it's just steel.
