Default Headlights

Hello to everyone
I have a 1985 C4
Can I replace the headlight motors which come in 1984-1988 models with the more modern 1988-1996 motors ?
Thanks ahead guys

That would be a pretty major job! The relay module in your '85 would need to be replaced with the '88-'96 control module, the wiring would need to me modified, and the complete headlight mechanism would need to be replaced. From what I've seen, the later headlight system isn't any more reliable, so why do it?

Assuming something is wrong with current motors, have you disassembled them? They are not hard to take apart and check, clean and lubricate. Could be a gear stripped.
