Default 285 rear on 11 inch rim

will this combo stick out past the fender ? any advantage or should I just replace with 275/9.5 x4 package that is on 96 lt4 now ? don't care about tire rotation, but better traction would be a plus.

If you presently have the 9.5" wheels you can easily step up to the 285 tire as for a number of years that was the stock rear tire size.

285 is too narrow for an 11" wheel.

Yeah, it's physically possible to stretch the 285 on an 11" wheel, but it won't gain you any traction over the 9.5" wheel, most likely. As to whether it would stick out, that depends on the offset. If the 11" wheel has 50mm offset, then it won't stick out on a 96 C4.

there seems to be few if any options between 285 to 315 .plan on replacing wheels and tires but don't like the look 315 sticking outside fender and screwing up big buck paint job on my CE. mud flaps are out of the question.
