Had my 84 out today going to the stereo shop, in the RAIN!! bah. About 24 miles each way. After about 10 miles I noticed that when I pulled away from stop lights, there was a slight hesitation before it took off and ran. Just a pause between when I push on the gas and the engine revving. If it was a carb, I'd say the float was set too low or the accelerator pump had an issue. Being the crossfire I know that isn't the case. Injectors look to be working fine. A little help in direction please
Fuel pressure is always a worry on these cars. Check your pressure as you should have a minimum of 11. If you don't have the minimum, check your filter and/or consider getting a new pump to give you a bit more umpf. The 85-89 corvette fuel pumps will swap in with no modifications. These will give you 15-16 and your car will love you.
Check your TPS- Throttle position sensor and set it to .525.
Also, bump your timing up so somewhere between 8-12 BTC as each car will like something different. Mine really loved 12.
Also, check your vacuum lines for leaks.
