Do you know which ecm you have? May be 1227727, if so, look up the pinout on gearheadefi.com and wire up a check engine lamp.

It would be unusual to not include the ALDL diagnostic connector. I thought years ago I recalled you buying a scanner. Do you have a scanner? Do you have a connector that looks like this? Do you have the original '90 Corvette ECM?

Adding the CEL shouldn't be much of an effort.

I do have the original 1990 ECM plus a ALDL connector. I had bought what I thought was a code reader that is only a jumper to get a code from a stoch dash. Basically it is a fancy paper clip.

Now how can I hook up a small light to get codes?

Thanks

What pin do I connect the light for codes?

Your image is the ECM connectors for a 1227727 ECM and NOT a 1227730 ECM.

I believe I can sort what you need to do using the 1227730. I'll see if I can find it all in one schematic. I find it using a couple. Working with this information see if you actually have a wire @ E7 in your ECM harness. It should be BRN/WHT. The link maybe won't open directly to the 1227730 info so just click on the 1227730 for proper reference.

With the light of your choice a 'fused' when ON/RUN/START to the lamp and the BRN/WHT from E7 'should' ground and provide flash.

In your ALDL connector what cavities are actually populated? Snapshot is a bit blurred.

OK so I run a wire from E7 to a small light on one side and ground the other side? Fused of cause.

No - E7 provides the ground (makes flash), the other bulb wire needs to be from a HOT in RUN/KEY ON. You need to be sure cavity B is wired correctly also.

I'm quite sure B needs to be E12 from ECM and should be WHT/BLK. Sometimes I believe it's mentioned BLK/WHT. B depending on where you look is referenced 'test' or 'diagnostic'.

Your A & B seem populated so just confirm to which ECM pins and you should be all set. Wire colors from most fabricators could certainly vary in their harnesses.

What happens when you 'jumper' A & B now?

You all set?

Here's a 1227730 ECM wiring for a '91 F-body

Your ALDL seems to be populated properly for 'run and diagnostics' in your snapshots. Wire colors for a fabricated harness a person could use any color so you need to verify your 3 pins and with the information links supplied I believe you could accomplish this. Most of the larger harness suppliers I believe try to use GM wire colors to aid diagnostics but not necessarily.

Did you understand the CEL wiring? I think you're all set.
