Re: Is this a ZF6? (scorp508)
I see L98 written on the case but I can't make out the shift pattern on the shifter. It looks like reverse is right and down but I can't tell for sure.
Edit: Maybe it's just the way it is sitting but I can't see the connectors for the CAGS or the reverse light on the side of it.

Re: Is this a ZF6? (scorp508)
sure does... but it is supposed to have a plate on the side...
to be honest, I need to see the bottom of it to be sure :D
the bottom is all finned aluminum...
Scoob - the shifter is internal on the ZF.
**Edit**
Scorp - are you thinking what I am thinking??? 6spd conversion???

Yeah that looks familar.
I see the ZF6 clutch slave cyclinder on it.
There is suppose to be a plate/sticker on the side of it. Looks like it was removed?
The 1-4 solenoid as well on the drivers side.
I am sure that is a ZF6

Re: Is this a ZF6? (scorp508)
Sure looks like one to me. Doesn't it have a plate on the side that says "ZF Industries"? I have two, one in a race car and one in a street car, and both have it. One of them is an early model ZF produced in Germany with an ID plate typed in german, and the other is a later model with the ID plate typed in english.

The person selling this thinks it is out of a '98 Corvette, which would of been a T56 and no bigass bellhousing. This could be a steal if he doesn't figure it out.

Sure looks like a ZF6 to me  . Why would it be a steal if it's out of a newer car? Do the C5 manual tranny's sell for less  ?

Yeah. The T-56 used in the C5s is weaker and cheaper than the ZF6. This guy probably just saw L98 and thought it was out of a '98 vette.

No, I mean 98. He literally is selling it as a "6-speed out of my wrecked 1998 corvette." It says 1998 in three places on the ad.

Re: (bogus)
Its a ZF alright. Could be from a ZR1 though and not an L98. The Z's have a different input shaft.
