468 SBC tall deck engine build
Hey Guys, I haven't posted any engine builds in a while. So I thought I would post a freshen up on mine. It's a 468 sbc (4.185X4.250). It uses a Dart iron eagle tall deck block. I reused my Lunati crank, and Crower billet rods. I got new custom JE pistons, their Hellfire rings. I had Strasburg machine do the machine work. And they went thru my AFR 245's, and freshened them up. I'm using the same cam, and same Miniram ported by Tony Mamo. Here's some pic's.

That has all the right stuff, put together by a guy who does it right. I can't wait to see and hear that bad boy make a pass!
By the way Jim, you still owe me a new set of rear tires for what you've done to the old ones on my avatar car with that little 396 you built for me.

Here are a few more. I had my McLeod dual disc rebuilt, and while the headers were out, I had them recoated.

That's cool to see a miniram feeding that big of a motor.

I think you need over 500ci, and more cam.

So a 4.20 bore, how big can you get the bore?

4.200 is the biggest bore I have seen done with this block. With a 4.185 bore where I am at now, minimum wall thickness is .275.

I can't believe that you can go that big a bore on that block.
That thing is wicked.

.275 seems like plenty of wall, I don't get worried until I get under .2.

Well maybe you could push the limits a bit on the bore, and end up at 4.250. That along with a 4.250 stroke would give you 482.33 CI.
