Default High Hp set ups.

Im almost finished with my high HP set up . Went with 4 barrel carb set up . Should be somewhere around 600 Hp.transmission was rebuilt with some stronger parts to hold the power. A4 rearmed is still stock. And I’m worried that will blow soon.

to the guys on here who put big numbers on their c4s . Did it hook well? Did you blow up your rearend . How was that stock gear ? i have the “performance” rear end when I look up the rpo code.

Iirc the performance rear is simply a 3.08 (3.31?) Gear. The d44 only went behind manual cars I think...

Clean looking setup! That Dana 36 won't last very long. If you're using sticky tires you would want to launch at a safe rpm that will keep the dana 36 from grenading it self. At least until you get a dana 44 installed.
I'm thinking of doing a big block swap. What's keeping me from pulling the trigger is finding headers, and oil pan that will fit. Could you share some info of what you had to modify to make it fit.

You have the 3.07 in a D36 if you have code G44 in addition to the G92, one does not mean the other in all years.

Put true slicks on it, and it will not last 10 passes. Radials may last 100 passes or 1000, or may not last 10, just depends on how hard you hook. Some are lucky, some are not.

What size motor?

What stall?

If you plan to hammer it, just have the d44 on the shelf ready to replace. The d36 will break.

G92 is the performance ratio, which usually triggers 3.07 in a coupe, but not in every year. The buyer could also order 3.07 without G92 being ordered in some years, which makes G92 basically meaningless.

G44 is the code you want to have.

You should atleast look over rear suspension bushings. Worn out bushings can make for interesting and sometimes exciting launches.

A D44 is a D44, all manual transmissions, the GM3 code indicates you got the standard 3.45 ratio.

….. Check my avatar for how well the stock C4 suspension hooks … Dana 44 with 4.33 gears and Mickey Thompson Drag Radials … lets see some internal engine specs … cam , compression , heads , etc . …..

….. Looking at your pic , you will want to put some kind of a shut off valve on the heater hoses or you'll have full time heat inside the car ! …..
