I just bought a new air filter housing from Jeff Kopp and notice that it looks like there is some kind of air hose at the top left that mine currently doesn't have. Does anyone know if this is suppose to be there for a 1990? TIA
On later years, that is the hookup for the electric AIR (smog) pump inlet. Perhaps you got the wrong year intake, but you can always just plug up the hole, which I think is roughly 3/4" diameter.
Or the more likely case, GM probably decided to stop producing the early '90s intake and just offer the mid-90s intake as a replacement.
What is the best way to plug it up without making it to distracting?

I had the same problem. Went to my local auto parts store and they have what look like vaccuum fitting covers, but in a 3/4" diameter. Black rubber fits perfectly and is almost invisible! I think they were in the red "help" section. Might have come 2 to a package (it's been awhile).

Thanks! I'll go to Pep Boys and see what they have!

I just got two if them from Napa for $4. Pep Boys didn't have it. Thanks!
