Default 87 "re-Bose" project

trying to sort out the chopped harness, I think I have it mostly figured out except the one pink pigtail that comes off the back of the head unit. I believe it supplies 12v to the Bose relay when the radio is turned on. I verified this with a multimeter. My question is where it actually connects. looking at pictures of intact harnesses, I don't see the connector it should mate to which according to the FSM is C210. Also according to the FSM C210 is over by the fuse block, white 8-pin connector I believe though it's not shown in the figure it's supposed be in showing the harnesses running down the passenger side to the rear.

I'll probably figure it out, but I'm stumped right now on this one.

Usually a pink wire is for the power antenna.

True, but the antenna 12v is in the black C1 connector and I can hear the antenna relay so that connection is good. This pink wire according to the FSM splits off the antenna 12v but should supply 12v to the relay, I just can't find the connector to bring that 12v into the relay. Power connectors were cut at the speakers so I need to find where I need to pick those wires up to bring them to the speakers and probe for the 12v to the amplifiers.

You are correct that the pink wire triggers the relay to the amps in the bose speaker boxes. The wire comes off the head unit and connects into the harness.

I have included a picture of the connector off the radio. Somewhere in cavity where the radio came out should be a pink wire with a black connector. Some body might have cut it when they installed another type of radio.

Hope this helps

thanks, I do have the intact coonector on the back of the head unit, I can't even find a pink lead behind it though. The pink lead coming out of the relay harness is going to the fuse box, I'm guessing to the 8 cavity C210 connector.

The harness in my car has the pink wire coming from the left of the radio cavity ( steering wheel side). The Bose relay is behind the info panel above the radio. Might be able to trace it out.

Good luck

I removed the aftermarket rear speakers and found the two amp power lines for the driver side rear. Reading a constant 12v regardless of radio being on. Forgot to check if 12v was there with key off but regardless that pink lead for the relay has been spliced into something hot all of the time it looks like, might make it easier to find
