No I don't believe they should ever flash. Seems to me you may have a bad door jam switch or one that need adjusting (not sure if that is possible on this model). Could also be the hatch switch. Open the door and hold the switch with your finger. If it stops flashing that is the bad/out of adjustment switch. If not close that door then do the same to the other. Same with the hatch. You may need to perform other troubleshooting. HTH.

test theory by temporarily sticking a dime on door jamb and manually holding hatch switch closed.
remove one at a time to find offender
not sure which switch does what. jamb or hinge i mean.
