4+3 issue 86 C4
I have an 86 coup with manual trans. My 4+3 OD is shifting in every gear including 1st gear. Which I understand it is not supposed to be doing. If I start off the line gently until about 17mph in 1st, it will shift to OD and I can run in the 25mph zone in town. If I hit 25mph off the line quickly and shift to 2nd, in traffic, it will not run in the 25mph zone without constantly shifting to OD and back. Does it so violently sometimes I think the tranny is going fall out. Pressing the button changes nothing. Once I hit the freeway all seems fine. So, basically, right now I have an 8 speed transmission. until I figure what to do. One option is cut and join two wire on the relay harness and change the momentary switch to on/off and use OD in 3rd & 4th where I need it. Another is to totally disable OD altogether. Open to any viable suggestions at this point.
