Any other aluminum flywheel guys have this problem? I can't get decent launch with the aluminum setup and I've been comtemplating putting the heavy ole' dual mass back in so I can hit the rear tires a little harder. 1.9 seems to be all I can get out of it on bfg dr's. The throttle response is excellent but if I can't find the 1.7's I should be capable of I might have to sacrifice throttle response for quicker et's. What are your thoughts?
I haven't been to the track with my setup yet, but I've had no problem launching it on the street. My current problem is that it wants to break them loose in the 3500-4500rpm range in first. This is AFTER you've launched and got moving. I NEED WIDER tires! :yesnod:
Re: possibly going back to dual mass setup (R94 LT 1)
I love mine on the street...but if you don't hit the launch just right it will bog down and really hurt the ET. This weekend I'll drop tire pressure a little more and try launching a little harder.
Re: possibly going back to dual mass setup (mikey)
I've got a 421 on the engine stand that lacks pistons, heads, and a mini ram :chevy I think if I had the centrifugal force of the heavier flywheel I could cut better 60's.
