1994 LT1 Corvette - base
I just rebuilt the motor and got everything back together.
I have spark and the car will run a bit if I spray a little carb cleaner.
Fuel pump works, I flushed some out of the system by keying the ignition a few times.
Ran some gas through the fuel rail
Cleaned and tested the injectors
I rented a noid light and I can see that the injectors are getting pulses
Still acting like no fuel getting through - any ideas?
I have not measured it yet but about 7 ounces of gas comes out immediately when I cycle the ignition. There does not appear to be any flow restriction.
"Runs a bit with car cleaner" - So I'm going out in left field with this suggestion. Don’t know if it's really running, that’s my assumption.
I assume you had the opti off. It is possible you did not align the missing tooth on the shaft correctly during install. In that case the timing would be way off. This mistake happens and everyone swears they got it right.
The opti should just slide on once lined up and should contact the block flush. The screws should not pull the opti to the block but only hold it in place. I know this is one huge pain to check but the only make sense item to me. You have done everything else except see the injectors spray fuel and even if half the injectors were plugged the engine would still start or do something.
It was water in gas. Checked the tank and it was a lot more full than it should have been and when it did the pressure test, I got gas on my hands but it didn't have a strong odor. Cleaned out the tank and lines and it fired up.
