Im running the ceramic pads that came with my slotted powerstop rotors. Not impressed. Id like to know if anyone knows of a real sticky rear pad that works when cold?
EDIT: Actually they are some sort of carbon fiber pad. I suspect its just some sort of marketing gimmick because Ive never heard of carbon fiber to be some sort of great pad compound.

I run Hawk HPS pads on my car with stock brakes. If you want even better compound, go with the Hawk HP+. Those tend to destroy rotors though.
I ordered the HP+. they have the highest coeficient of friction at lowest temperatures. Excited to get them on just the rear. I hope it makes the rears work more. if not I'll buy and install the "spring" for the proportioning valve.
EDIT: I dont know why the amazon description says track pad.. they fall of very rapidly at high temps. anyway.. thats what I ordered yesterday and received today. love amazon.

FYI next time for a high quality street pad I would use the Carbotech 1521 compound.
The Carbotech™ 1521™ is our high performance street compound. The 1521™ compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521™ is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech™ 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800°F (426°C+). 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech™ 1521™ is NOT recommended for ANY track use.
Best street pad I tried was a Wagner or Raybestos organic. Basically stock replacement
Wont mention brands but tried a few you see mentinoed a lot on boards and they were all crap...noisy expensive, lots of dust and werent worth a damn til the brake fluid seemed ready to boil. Cold or avg temps it just didnt like to stop, super irritating.
GM got it right...even for fun canyon runs the above were plenty, the car stopped like it was supposed to.
then, as i assume the tremendous dust they generate fouled by lubricated ( syn-lube) pad ends, the squeaks came.
very messy and now squeaky. Also one side (rf) wore premature. Im not sure if brakes somehow ‘stuck’ on that side . Though note car was easy to push in neutral and didnt pull during braking. So i dont know what caused that.
but i wanted the best on j55 brakes....(ie without upgrading to c6 z or aftermarket brakes)
