C4 Window Adjustment
1994 Coupe - I just replaced the windshield weather stripping and driver side window guide located in the front of the assembly. I had to remove the aluminum panel in the door to replace the guide. I have put it all back together and am now trying to adjust the driver side window so that it seats correctly when in the up position. I am using the passenger side assembly as my reference. I have adjusted the three screws at the rear bracket (two for up/down and one for tilting in/out) as well as the front bracket screw for up/down. No matter how I adjust these screws, it is not seating right. It appears that the entire window needs to be shifted backwards by about 1/8 inch. I am now thinking that I may need to go back in, remove the aluminum panel again, and loosen the mounting screws for the window and move the window back as a unit by that amount. I did not loosen or move the mounting screws for the window when replacing the forward guide. I do not like the idea of taking everything apart again.
