I put a new opti spark in and everything is back together and when I start it it runs ruff for a few seconds then stalls
I've checked and everything is connected and the spark plug wires are right.
I don't know what else to look at or for.....
what'd I break now?!?!...
did you have any codes in the ecm that may need cleared by disconnecting the batt.? for the most part my experience has been plug and play. I'm sure some others will add some differant ideas
Mine did that too when I replaced my Opti and H2O pump -- turned out that I had forgotten to plug the MAF back in! :jester Check all electrical connections again!
I've checked everything and it's all connected and what not
the motor turns over like it should with the coil inpluged but plug it in and it sounds like it's miss firing and out of time or something
Could I have messed up something installing the new opti?
Theres only one way for it to go on and it is lined up right on the gear pin... Could something be wrong with the new opti? or could it be the wrong part? (if that possible?)
Routing?? never thought of that
What do you mean exactly?
They were changed maybe 3 months ago and didn't really move much during the opti install so the routing of them didnt change.
What would I not want a plug wire near?
I meant to say that if you changed the cap along with the opti, could you have switched 2 or more plug wires around? That would certainly cause it to run like crap.
The opti I put in came as one piece which is, well, everything I'm assuming, I assume that cause this is the first time i've ever seen an opti and what i took off the car looks just like the new part I put back on the car...
Michael, did you have to remove the spark plug wires from the old setup and install them on the new setup? If so, you may have put them in the wrong order.
