Default Brake pedal adjustment

1989 STOCK WITH AUTO TRANS 53,000

For me, my brake pedal travels too far before it starts to apply brakes Once it applies brakes, everything works fine. I have replaced pads, rotors and blead the system several times. I have even replaced and blead master cylinder, but no change. Changed all the brake fluid also. Can the rod that comes out of the brake boster that pushes on the master cylinder be adjusted longer, or is there a problem that I have not addressed or a better solution?

How far is too far ? Sometimes rear calipers that have the parking brake incorporated will do what you are saying.

Pedal goes down maybe 3 inches before it starts to get firm. On my everyday car, not a Vette, the brake pedal goes down very little before it starts to get firm
