Default 1986 Rear Tail light Bulb??

I have an 86 coupe. When I put on my left signal, the arrow only lit up but; did not blink. I checked the lights and the front was lit but; the inner rear was not. So, would a blown bulb cause the signal not to blink?? Do I need a bulb and a flasher??
Also, I read many theories on how to change an inner bulb. From anyone's experience which way is less difficult?? The license plate, gas filler, or remove the bolts on the bumper cover and reach up??

Thanks for any help....

If both rears are burnt out it can keep the flasher from working. I find the easiest way is to remove the plate and backup light, remove one and then the other. I remove the whole lens (2x10mm bolts eac) rather than try to unlatch the sockets. Your mileage may vary :-)

I just have the inner left side out. That's why I was confused on the signal not flashing.

Turn on the 4-way flashers to verify that the inner left bulb is actually out. A separate flasher is used for them. If that bulb works, that would make the turn signal flasher suspect. It's a PITA to get to!
It may even be a good idea to replace all 4 of the rear bulbs and even clean up the housings.

I did that project on my old '87 when I had one bulb burn out. I removed the housings by first removing the license plate, then the backup lamp housings and then the tail/brake lamp housings using a 10mm socket. The bulb sockets were full of old dried out grease and that took some time to scrape it all out. I used Sylvania 1137LL (long life) bulbs and applied a new coating of dielectric grease. The lamp housings were pretty dirty inside so I used some soap and water to clean them and then let them dry in the sun.

Small update.....I tried reaching up to see if I could unlock the bulb socket. I know unlocking it was the easy part. It is very TIGHT even with the bumper cover unbolted. I consider my arms to be normal size but; anyone with big forearms forget it. I am not sure I could even reach the outer sockets. I was able to reach it and there is enough wire to bring it down far enough. I was able to clean the socket good enough and replace the bulb. This method is good for just changing a bulb, not doing a thorough clean and grease job.
I never had a car that the signal stops working if the bulb goes out. I am used to the fast blinking signal if the bulb is out.

I have a 88 and have never had to replace a rear tail light bulb (knock on wood). I read on the C7 Forum that the front bumper has to be removed to access the head light pod to replace the front bulb, at 2.3 hours of work.

Just had this happen to me, drivers' side blinker no longer works, just stays on in front and back when turn lever is set. Drivers side outer tail light is on, but with brake pedal depressed, only the inner one lights up further. Are there two filaments in the one bulb?

What bulb P/N? 2057?

Well after putting my arm in the vice and getting cut up I find that its not the bulb. Looks like the turn signal flasher on the left side just isn't working. Emergency flashers work all around. Where is the turn signal flasher? Dash?

There's only one turn signal flasher. Do all the bulbs light front and rear on the left side?

Turn signal on right side works, turn signal on left side just stays on and does not blink. In car dash shows green arrow lighting up and staying on. Emergency flashers all around work correct.

Turn signals working yet?
My right side rear is out, both bulbs at the same time. I'm suspicious
