Default tools needed for starter removal on 89

Will be replacing the starter on my 89 with a gear reduction mini starter I got from Jeff Kopp. Besides the ratchet and extensions, what size sockets and wrenches wil I need? Would like to get under the car with all the tools ready.
Thanks. :flag

I don't know the exact size sockets, but 9/16 and 1/2 would be a good start.

If I remember right the bolt on the nose is 7/16 but it may be 3/8. The bolt (nut) that holds the battery wire to the solenoid is usually a 5/8 but I have seen 11/16 and even 9/16. Then there's the little wire on the solenoid that is usually 5/16 but I have seen 11/32........... . The dust sheild is usually 10mm and I reccomend removing it too as you can modify it so it can be removed without bothering the starter in the futuer and it makes it a hell of a lot easier when you pull the starter to have the dust sheild out of the way........ use tin snips ............ :seeya
