Put on new Hawk pads all around on my LT4 about 3,000 miles back. Wonderful! Nice pads, great grab, etc, etc. After about 3k on the pads I am getting some mild squeal. It's low enough in intensity so it's only noticable when I'm running with windows open or targa off. Only happens at low speed - in the 5 mph range. :cry
Any suggestions on what, if anything, I can do to eliminate this? Why would the brakes develop this after several thousand miles?
As always, any help is always appreciated! Thanks.
Yeah, I bedded them. So I'm surprised that this showing up now, too. I'm wondering if I ran through something which has contaminated the pads, although I realize that seems pretty far-fetched.
What is Brake Quiet? I'm not familiar with it. Can you describe it for me and point me in the direction of a vendor?
you put anti squeel paste on the back of the pads before you installed them right? that should do most of it but sometimes rotors just get glazed with low speed stopping junk. find a nice freeway & take it up to 120mph & just bury your foot in the brake as hard as you can till you drop to 20mph. should clear up your problem

seriously? i don't have ANY squeel with mine & they are on all 4 corners, do you guys have slotted rotors? the carbon builds up if you don't & can glaze the iron if you don't drive them hard.
