Default Intro

Afternoon everybody! Would like to introduce myself and hopefully get some assistance and guidance. Would like to be known as Conleper, age 23, currently live in Texas, own 1984 Chevy Corvette C4.
Bought a pretty beat up C4 cross-fire corvette about 1 year ago but due to hurricane certain parts got flooded and started to fail. Disassembled the engine and certain parts need to be replaced but would like to know if others could be reused/repaired since on a budget.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. Since you want to know about a C4, I am going to move this over to the C4 Tech section. You may want to expand on just what parts you are worried about so members can give you a more precise answer.

Welcome Conleper, you're in the right spot! So are you wanting to do a restoration, or just a good driver? there is a big difference...

Well, was looking into restoring and driving this beauty since its my first corvette. Lot of TLC is needed though but for now those pictures I posted where part of the intake manifold. Are those cracks? Should I be worried about short term? How would I go about repairing the damage if possible, or should I purchase a new intake cover?

Sorry for late reply, but Thank you for your response

A popular way to make complex aluminum castings is with the "permanent mold" process. The marks you are seeing are caused by cracks in the molds, but do not result in cracks in the casting! The marks you are seeing are probably cosmetic only, and do not affect the performance of the part. If they are cracks, you would be able to see flaws in the casting on the opposite side of the part, and if you spray a low viscosity fluid (like Liquid Wrench) on one side of the part, you would see some of the fluid on the other side of the part.
