I just recieved the new ecklers catalog and theres a new kit which eklers calls the C4R will this kit fit on my 89 vette cause its from 91 and up.
If no are there any decsent kits out there (not like greenwood and the usaul kits) i would like to see something for the c4.
As far as fitting your particular car that is pretty easy....not cheap but easy.
The only real difference between your car & mine (body-wise) is the side moldings (between the upper/lower body panels) and the front & rear bumper covers. You'll need to upgrade the beltline molding to the '91-'96 style and get new bumper covers to get you there. If you did that then the front/rear dams will fit the contour of the body.
Their kits work....very well. Rick Doria uses them on his car (at 240+ in the open desert) and they keep his car planted pretty well.
I just wish they would manufacture the rear dam as a single piece again. They did a limited production run with the rear dam molded into the bumper cover as a single piece....looked very nice. I think he said they only did 20 of them.
Ok, I tried to like it, really I did, but it just looks "tacked" on. A good bump and everytrhing falls off  (I know that's not the case, it just looks that way). All of those creases look like dirt catchers to me. Now, if it were a one piece rear bumper and the skirts were integrated into the rocker panels, I'd be a little warmer to it. :yesnod:
I've got just the rear wing from the GC4 kit(I guess it's the C4R now) and the front spoiler from the Aero kit and I love the looks. I have to agree that some of the other pieces look tacked on though, unless they are one piece. I think Greenwood used to offer several of the pieces from the GC4 kit as a one piece mold with whatever part they went on ( front or rear bumper doors, etc).
They made a limited production run of single-piece rear bumbers with integrated tunnels for 20 kits. I talked to them about it months ago. They said that the cost was SO much higher to do it that way. I'm assuming they did them in urethane.
I would hope they still had the molds though. I sent them an email yesterday asking if it was possible to produce the single-piece rear in a fiberglass piece instead of urethane. Still have not had any reponse bad.
Here's a picture of the limited production kits. As you can see even the side skirts are molded in, and I really like the looks. That was why I initially asked Greenwood about the GC4 (C4R) kits...
If this kit was available I'd ****** it in a heartbeat. It does not have the "tacked-on" looks of the other kits.
I called Greenwood like 3 years ago. I wanted that single molded body kit after seeing Rick Dorias car, (ORR vette) I called and they said it was no more. They sent me some info about thier tack on kits and some posters type of info on the body kits with a few shots of the single molded kit.
That single molded kit looks awesome. Too bad they got rid of it. It makes the other tack-on kits on the same page look horrible.
I also contacted Greenwood about the one piece kit and got the same response. Maybe there's enough interest here to get a limited production run going.
