96 LT4 Check Engine light mystery solved!+ a question
After chasing codes 101 and 108, we inspected the MAP sensor. It was dead as a doornail...broken diaphram. Put on a new one and no more annoying CES light.
The question I have is this .... does the absence of a functioning MAP mean that the fuel air mixture was not responding to elevation (barometric pressure) changes. Any ideas out there? Just an **** Corvetter owner worry issue) Cire96
Cool, I figured that was the problem. I've found the FSM is very good, but the little print is key. I always read the entire section on the DTC, you never know what buried in the three page section. To answer your question, the MAP sensor is used if the MAF sensor dies (it's used to do speed density mode) and to check up on the MAF sensor.
