I have a 1989 6 spd manual Corvette. I am replacing the brake light switch. When I press the brake pedal my interior light flicker and sometimes the dash board display lights up like when I first turn on the cart. Under the dash is three switches. Two of them are side bye side with the plungers contacting the brake pedal stop. Both switches have connector blades on them. One of the switches is connected to wires which I believe go to my brake lights. The other switch has no wire connections but does have a vacuum line connected that I believe goes to the cruise control. I bought this car used. The switch with the vacuum line. Is it missing connectors or it was made that was and does not get a connector. I have not found any connectors without a home, I looked.
That switch when used for some applications (many GM not just C4) is/was used for AT applications where the 'electrical connections' would typically control converter lock up. Flicker maybe a capacitor issue at the conventional SLS maybe? I've no experience but it might be interesting to check. Capacitor should be in the FSM wiring diagram.

SLS? sorry, I am really bad on CF shorthand. It took me two months to figure out what CEL meant, doh. Do you have apage or figure reference. Thank you.

SLS - Stop Light Switch
8A-34-01 for cruise showing vacuum release with no terminals.
8A-110-0 for capacitors @ SLS Is it your issue? I've no idea but it's something I might consider checking.
Thank you guys. This is good of you all to help me out like this. I will update on my progress
So two things initiated the Stop Light Switch change. The fact that every time I touched the brake pedal my lights fluttered and the car was giving me starting problems. It would crank fast but not start. After changing the SLS the lights stopped fluttering but the start problem continued.
I went to a mechanic and he said a fuse link was no good. I changed the link and tada. The car lights do not flutter and it starts as it should.
As always thank you all for your help.
