I'd get a scanner to see what is going on. You could have an air leak or a bad CTS or something else.

Sounds like a vacuum leak or maybe bad IAC. Your picture looks odd I see the LT1 is not in a Corvette?

Do you have the 92 ECM and the ALDL connector? If so an adapter and a laptop with TunerPro RT will tell you what you need to know.
The most likely causes are, as already mentioned, a vacuum leak, a bad IACV, air bypassing the throttle plates fro someone cleaning the DAG off them. Other possibilities are MAP sensor or O2 sensor.
You need to read the ECM to find the problem.
Is this installed in a 32 Ford?
