First Corvette
I just bought a 1989 Corvette. I have a problem already.
The battery will not stay charged and the car doesn't have enough volts to keep the engine running. I have 11 volts, but need 12.5 to properly run engine.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Thanks, Mark

Welcome to the forum Mark!!
Sounds like it's time for a new battery. Most auto parts stores can check the old one. Be sure to have it load tested.
Good Luck!

Welcome Mark. Congrats on your first Vette. I too recommend a new battery as a first step. You may also consider posting your question over in the C4 sections in case your problem goes beyond simply needing a new battery. Good luck!

I see you're from Michigan, if you are taking the car off the road for the winter you'll need a battery tender (trickle charger). I would buy one now and put it on the battery if you don't have a battery charger, this way you'll have an idea as to spending $100+ for a new battery, Good luck

Im in the same boat, Home Depot actually has a pretty good price on their group 75 batteries.
When you do it, do the Big 3 wiring upgrade too, i'm sure your grounds are ancient looking like mine. You'll hold 14 volts alot better.

As pointed out, Home Depot has the best price if you're looking to get out cheap. I've dealt with this type of issue a lot! Get yourself a multi-meter for testing battery, alternator, etc. Good luck!
