Rear Gear Whine
I recently installed a set of 3.75's, from 2.59's, (Richmond) gears in my 93'. I'm now experincing some gear whine (noise). I have yet to change the rear lubricant since the install, does anyone think this will help? Or surely there must be an additive that could be added to cure this.

Re: Rear Gear Whine (HOWSER)
Mine made a lot of noise until I added the GM limited slip additive, even if the gear oil says it is for limited slip you still need the additive, ofcourse you may have already added it. I hope this helps.

Re: Rear Gear Whine (350camaro)
Welcome to the world of new gears. The whine can be caused either by the gear cut/material, or it can (more likely) be caused by the installation. If the gears are not properly set up, ie backlash, there will be an audible whine. You may want to ask your installer to recheck the clearances.
