My 1990 will not do a 2-1 downshift in D4 between 25-35 MPH...but it will downshift in D3...Is this normal, or is there something wrong with my transmission?
Thanks

You're ok........ I manually shift mine all the time (as in ALWAYS) and going down to 1st at more that 25 isn't a real comfortable thing....... it likes to slide the rear tires a little when I do that....... I USUALLY get to 25 or less to go for 1st.............. :seeya
Yeah War machine ,...... even if I'm thrashing my car it's best t get down below 20 or so........ if your headin into a turn and downshift and nail it at like 28 or 30 . :D ......... hang on real good ........ but don't quit drivin 'till the car stops movin'
Thanks alot for the input guys...your right if I go WOT between 25 to 30 MPH I feel my back tires sliding...but I still can't figure out why it will not downshift in D4~
Thanks a lot
Mine won't do it in D4 until I'm practically stopped. I have my lock-up speed changed on my chip so I can leave it in D4. I rarely leave it in D3. If I'm not in D4 then that means I'm manual shifting the gears one by one.
