I now this has been brought up before. After cleaning leaves and debree out of my radiator and condensor fins from my 94 c4 with auto trans, Ive decided to go with a 3 row radiator because of heating typical issues with c4's.

Ive done alot of reading and research and I can not nail it, Im a typical o.c.d. vette guy and as usual I make science out of everything (corvette mind) lol.

I just want 123 easy, I know I would have to mod some on a budget. If anyone has done this? It would be great to help me with a write up ect.

My question is?
What radiator I should get? (no expensive stuff) (maybe champion) ??
What adapters I need for trans lines to install?
Most importantly what thermo should I get?

Been looking at radiators myself. One thing I heard is that 3 row radiators need different (stronger) cooling fans and 2 row does not. Don't know how true it is but that's the information I got.
I am not looking to modify the fans, brackets and all that stuff so I will be staying with 2 row personally.

Aside from that, the 3 row are mostly used for the higher horsepower (400+) engines and for a stock C4 would not be required.

Its 95 today in Orlando, my replacement radiator I installed in 05 I think has seen its best days. Even with flushing, new coolant every 2 or 3 years and good care I think the tubes are just closing up and not as efficient as they once were. It doesn't matter how much I flush and clean the fins out it just does not matter I'm at the best it can give. Running the Aux fan manually helps but not enough when its 90+ and a new better radiator will help.

I change the radiator in my 94 Coupe....DeWitt's definitely.....I installed a double core and it brought the temps right down. Drops right in with slight modification to radiator shroud.

I don't "get it" how this can be. Not saying you're wrong...I believe you, but I can't help but wonder how that happens when my 25 year old radiator was totally fine, until the tank cracked. (?)

I installed a Spectra that is made in Canada. I paid $78.00 on Amazon. I am in Sun City Arizona and with 115 degree says the care is running at the opening thermostat temp. Even sitting in the drive and running on 115 degree day.

I will keep You updated as the temps climb to 120 in the next 2 months. It is my daily driver.

It is plastic and aluminum but so was the original. The original was still working but I had to replace the A/c condenser. This one runs alot cooler than the original.

Still rocking my original 1994 radiator. Yeah, it runs a little warm but right where it's supposed to. As long as it does that I'll leave it alone.

I have a C4 that never had any issues with running hot as I keep the cooling system in shape with regular maintenance. My 1968 C3 has a serious issue with excessive heat due to high compression along with cast iron heads.

Dewitt may be a bit more expensive than some but the man I spoke with "Tom" who was extremely knowledgeable about keeping a high performance engine cool. Tom actually likes solving problems like this one according to our conversation, he offered me an incredible price for a radiator that would be custom built for my BB 1968 and he also said that heating issues would become "History" in my Corvette life! I like this guy Tom, he is confident and sells a great product to boot!

I am very impressed and even though I have not bought anything from him yet I will be ordering the C3 radiator before to long. I am getting older and tired of playing with my heat issue and that is why I called Dewitt. After my call with Tom I am convinced that he could really make a difference in my Corvettes cooling system.

I will not buy another radiator with plastic tanks on it, ever.

As for me and my Corvettes we will support DeWitts as long as I am around!

You guys up north don’t get the heat we get down in FL and other parts of the south especially when the sun heats up the pavement (120+) it's really hard to cool a corvette.

I will say in the winter (if you can call it winter in Orlando), and in the spring things are OK when it's 50 to 80. Runs about 185-200 ish with no real concern. If I was up north things would probably look normal.

Today it was 95-100 and with no aux fan running it ran 215-220 after about an hour. Yes I know that's in the normal window. If I shutdown at 220 it's boiling in the surge tank. But I usually run the aux fan to cool it before shutdown. It does have a 185 stat in it. If it ran 200 I'd be happier. I think a more efficient radiator with better cooling would help……we will see.

Yeah...I still don't "get it". We get the same temps here too. No, not at my house in Park City....but certainly down in Salt Lake, which I drive, race, etc. down there all the time. Every work day, in fact.

I've "Dual driver" autocross my '92 in high 90's temps and it didn't get over 215. Same temps (HIGH 90's) on the highway it's @~185-190.

I have the single core DeWitts with the SPAL fans. Works great. Bought mine in Black. I only live 65 miles away from them.
