Default Hard vacuum line to the brake booster (L98)

Hi,
What is the purpose of the hard vacuum line from the plenum to the booster?
How does it work?
Thanks.

It acts on the diaphragm inside the booster.. Unplug it and the pedal effort goes way up.

Why do you ask?

Thank you.
I just took off the plenum and I wonder If it is needed to use thread seal tape in order to seal it well or not needed?
Thanks

Not really, because it is a flare fitting the the seal happens at the connection itself.

Tape on the threads will not help it seal.

Look inside the 16MM/5/8 pipe fitting and you will see where it seals.
